Israel & Sarah | Winter Couples Photoshoot

Israel and Sarah proved that a chilly, winter day couldn't have stopped this sweet married couple from creating an INCREDIBLE winter couples photoshoot!

These two are seriously two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met.

It was a weekend away in their college town and Chase, my husband, came to the session too, since the four of us have all been friends since college - Chase and Israel actually lived together in college! They have such a beautiful relationship. Sarah is bubbly, wild, extroverted and just a JOY to be around, she is always smiling and making people laugh and feel included. Israel is a deep thinker, more quiet, introverted, but he is so intentional in the way he loves others. Total opposites. The two together are a POWER COUPLE! They are so fun to be around and compliment/balance each other in the best ways. Both are very intentional, love people, love the Lord and love each other.

"Well, we decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day different by doing a shoot rather than a traditional dinner date. It was so special because it felt like we were newlyweds again with all the flirting and cheese ❤️ sometimes pictures seem forced and unnatural - but you are so good at capturing the freedom and playfulness in our relationship. These pictures weren’t for insta likes or approval - but for us to remember this season. My favorite picture (ever) is us sitting with our fingers locked. That’s who we are."

They got engaged in Lynchburg, Virginia on a walk through one of our many nature trails. We (my husband and I) have actually known them since they were just dating! Israel and Chase were house-mates for a little over a year, so we got to know the two of them well before the engagement. They got engaged in fall 2019 and I had the honor of being their wedding photographer in the summer of 2020! Chase was in the wedding as a groomsman - it was so so special.

All that to say, it's so sweet to still be close with them and getting to photograph their love after all these years. I absolutely loved photographing on top of the parking garage with them; they were seriously up for anything and trusted my vision completely! Israel & Sarah make everything so fun, but can also be really tender together; it's so sweet to watch them interact. We joked and laughed A LOT, Chase was there too, it felt like a double-date just getting to spend that time with them. Nothing more romantic than snuggling up close with your best friend in chilly weather.

Choosing to do a couples photoshoot together to celebrate Valentine’s Day is probably one of the sweetest ideas ever for any couple looking to spend some unique time together with their partner! Getting back to the beginning-flutters of back when you were newly-married or getting to settle-in with a life-long relationship - I’m here for it all.
